President Salva Kiir has fired the Acting Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Deng Dau and appointed Ambassador James Morgan as the new minister.
This was announced on the State-own TV, SSBC Thursday evening.
However, President Kiir did not appoint a new Deputy Minister to replace Deng Dau Deng Malek.
Amb. Morgan replaced Mayiik Ayii Deng who was sacked in March 2023.
Deng Dau was assigned to take charge of the docket in March 2023 after Kiir sacked Mayiik Ayii Deng.
Before his appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister, Amb. Morgan was South Sudan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU), and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa.
He was also a permanent representative to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in Djibouti.
