The Caretaker Commissioner of Juba County, Moulana Kalisto Lado Foustino Nyigilo, has resumed official duties with an immediate intervention to reorganize an existing access road in Gudele West, commonly known as Kuburi Haboba.

Kalisto visited the area on Monday, 5 October 2026, where he engaged the local business community as authorities moved to improve the use and organization of the access road.

The Commissioner said maintaining clear access routes is important for improving movement, supporting business activities, enhancing sanitation and creating a more orderly urban environment.

He also urged shop owners in the area to maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene standards. He called on businesses to properly enclose their shops and use appropriate glass or protective coverings to prevent goods from being exposed to dust, flies and other sources of contamination.

“Juba County must be organized, clean, and beautiful. We all have a responsibility to cooperate with the County Authority to make our communities better and improve service delivery,” Kalisto said.

The Commissioner further called on residents and members of the business community to cooperate with the county authorities in implementing development initiatives and maintaining orderly public spaces.

The reorganization of the access road at Kuburi Haboba marks one of the Commissioner’s first activities after resuming office, with the county administration focusing on improving accessibility, sanitation and the organization of public spaces in Juba.
