The Juba City Council says it is beginning to enforce traffic laws that it passed previously.
Last month, the Juba City Legislative Assembly passed traffic laws in an effort to regulate the movement of the motorists in Juba town.
These include a 100-pound-fine for leaning on a traffic light post and 200 pounds for parking near it.
The mayor of the council, Christopher Wani says the pedestrians and motorists will be fined for wrong doing, starting from today.
“You touch it, we fine you 100 pounds because you don’t have business to touch it,” Mr Wani warned.
“If you are a driver, or a motor rider and park your car near traffic light, we have a fine for of 200 pounds because you are going to obstruct.”
The traffic lights were installed in October 2014.
