Japan offers S Sudan $41m in humanitarian aid

The government has received an offer of $41 million from the Japanese government for humanitarian assistance and the implementation of the peace agreement.

According to the UN agency for refugees, more than 1.6 million people have been displaced in South Sudan since December 2013 and are in dire need of humanitarian assistance.

Barnaba Marial Benjamin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, explains how this funding will help the people most affected by the current conflict.
