Jamus Juba FC came from behind to defeat bottom-placed Olympic Renk FC 4-1 in match-week 3 of the South Sudan Premier League at Juba National Stadium.
The victory elevates Jamus FC in second place with 7 points from three matches, trailing unbeaten leaders Koryom Bor FC, who have perfect 9 points.
Meanwhile, Olympic Renk FC remains at the bottom of the league table of the table with no points, though they have a postponed match to play.
The game began with a minute of silence to pay tribute to a deceased father of a player of Olympic Renk before Jamus FC unleashed a high intensity attack on opponents.
But Olympic’s advanced defensive setup and effective use of the offside trap neutralized Buffalo’s attacks throughout the first half.
Olympic struck first through their winger Boutros Charles, who capitalized on a counterattack in the 34th minute.
Despite Jamus’ aggressive push to equalize, Olympic successfully held their ground to end the first half 1-0 in their favour.
Jamus came back stronger in the second half, increasing their offensive pressure. Their persistence paid off when an equalizer came from a rebound shot that the striker finished decisively by Ghani Samir in 47 minutes.
With momentum on their side, Buffalo FC scored three more goals by Patric Oleo in 52nd minute, Mudthir Yahya in 64th minute and Madit Mayor Dut in 90th minute completing an emphatic 4-1 victory.
The match also featured four yellow cards two for each team.
At the Post-Match preconference, Olympic Coach Mohamed Kor Expressed satisfaction with his team’s improvement, attributing the loss to fitness issues and injuries.
He emphasized plans to address these weaknesses and enhance both physical and mental fitness for upcoming games.
While Jamus assistant Coach Godfrey Odour highlighted the challenges posed by a well-organized Olympic side, commending their effort and discipline.
