The International Monetary Fund is urging the national government to make health, education, agriculture and infrastructure priorities. Addressing journalists in Juba, the I-M-F Resident Representative, Dr. Joseph Karangwa, said the National Budget should target services that the citizens really need. Doctor Karangwa urged the government to also ensure transparency and accountability in Petroleum management. Dr. Karangwa added that 60 percent of South Sudan National Budget goes for paying salaries, rather than for delivery of services to the citizens. He also said the I-M-F is providing advice on key reform in financial management and tax revenue administration.
