The Committee of Foreign Affairs in the National Legislative Assembly has urged IGAD to change the approach to the peace process.
In the latest round of talks last week, President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar failed to agree on power sharing, system of governance and the reintegration of forces during the transitional period.
The committee says the current trend in the peace talks will not result into a lasting agreement.
Philip Thon Leek, the chairman, says IGAD mediators should first focus on a permanent ceasefire.
At the end of the last session of the talks, IGAD chairman Haliemariam Deslagn, said both parties were not willing to make compromises for a peace agreement. He said the process would be reformed.
