IDPS demand representation in the peace talks

The Internally Displaced Persons living inside UN Protection of Civilian Sites are demanding representation at the peace talks.

The Chairman of the UNMISS camps, Hoth Guor, told Eye Radio this morning that all the six Protection of Civilian sites country-wide should have representatives at the peace talks in Addis Ababa.

“If we’re included in the peace negotiations in Addis Ababa, we would have even voiced our concerns ourselves,” said Mr Guor.

“Because there are things being discussed and our position is not known by the negotiators.”

Mr. Guor also adds that the communities involved in the current political crisis have no problems with each other.

Last night, Civilians at UNMISS also joined the nation in lighting candles to remember the innocent civilians who lost their lives on December 15th last Year.

There are hundreds of thousands of IDPs in UN POCs across the country.
