Governor Lobong dissolves Kapoeta peace committee

Eastern Equatoria state Governor Louis Lobong has issued a decree, dissolving the Peace and Reconciliation Committee for Greater Kapoeta.

It is not clear why Mr. Lobong dissolved the 15-member committee.

However, according to our correspondent Ijoo Bosco, the governor said some members of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee had politicized the peace initiative.

The decree also ordered the committee to surrender all the state government assets, including vehicles and office equipment.
