Finance minister, BoSS governor in U.S. for World Bank meeting

The Minister of Finance and Planning and the Central Bank Governor on Monday led a delegation to Washington DC to attend the World Bank/ IMF Spring meeting slated for April 11-16, 2023.

Dier Tong Ngor led the government delegation comprising Central Bank governor, Johnny Ohisa, NRA Commissioner General Dr. Patrick Mugoya, and the Undersecretary for the Ministry of Finance and Planning Angelo Deng Rehan among others.

“The Spring meeting is expected to deliberate on global economic matters which could benefit South Sudan in acquiring funding to support critical infrastructure developments in the country,” read a statement from the ministry.

The government delegation, the press release said, is also expected to hold series of sideline and bilateral meetings with heads of Bretton Woods Institutions and different stakeholders to lobby support and channel global funding towards South Sudan.
