The Federal Democratic Party (FDP), a member of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance launched its political activities in Juba on Saturday.

The opposition party launched its activities at the party headquarters at Rock City.

It is headed by Gabriel Changson Chang, the current Minister of Higher Education Science and Technology.

FDP Secretary-General Changkuoth Reath Bichock said it is the first time that the party has launched its activities in the country’s capital.

“This morning, we raised our flag; the flag of South Sudan and the flag of FDP. So from today, FDP starts launching its political activities, and will also launch our activities in the states,” he said in a video footage extended to Eye Radio.

Changkuoth is also the Chairperson of Finance and Economic planning Committee at the transitional national parliament.

In 2016, FDP launched its 26-page manifesto, which entails that it believes in a government accountable to South Sudanese through free, fair and peaceful elections.

It also “embraces federalism as an ideal administration and governance through democracy and pluralism.”
