Equatoria youth concerned about insecurity on roads

The Equatoria Youth Union has raised concerns about the increasing rate of attacks along major roads leading out of Juba.

There have been reported incidents of killings on the roads to Yei, Terkeka and Yambio.

The youth have called for capital punishment of individuals convicted of highway ambushes.

“As youth we categorically and strongly condemn this evil acts and call upon the states and the national government to do more in curbing crimes in the country,” said Daniel Abusha, chairperson.

“Painful measures such as death penalties are to be passed on whoever arrested committing such inhuman acts against the citizens of South Sudan so as to deter those who maybe planning evils against this country.”

Four people were killed and five others wounded in the latest attack along the Juba-Kajo-Keji road over the weekend.
