The chairperson of the National Elections Commission says members of the international community have withdrawn their support to the commission.

Abednego Akok says general elections will be held in March next year.

He says the America government is one of the countries that have stopped their support to the commission.

“The international community who use to provide technical experts is reluctant to do that and it is the duty of the government to engage them to invite them. Let them come for the support of the elections.” Akok said.

“The premises we are in; was prepared by that is under the USAID institution but now has written to us officially, they have stopped supporting us.” He added.

Mr Akok says the withdrawal of support has caused financial challenges in organizing the next general elections.
