President Salva Kiir has asked SPLM-IO leader Dr Riek Machar to ‘report to Juba immediately’ to form the interim government within 7 days.
This comes barely a day after the president appointed Dr Machar as the First Vice President, a move in line with the August 2015 peace agreement.
In a press statement released this afternoon, President Kiir also demanded names of the SPLM-IO.
“It’s become very important and urgent that I receive names of SPLM-IO within the 7 days,” said Kiir.
Former Detainees, who are signatories to the peace deal, have submitted names of their nominees to the President.
