Medical Doctors at Wau Teaching Hospital have gone on a sit-down strike over unpaid incentives, and too much work.
They say they need the incentives for them to be motivated to do their job, but this money has not been paid to them for about four months now.
The doctors say they were being overworked since conflict broke out in Wau.
The Acting Medical Director at the hospital, Mabior Michael says the Doctors also want out-patients to be removed from the list of cases they handle.
He says they only want to handle in-patients, while nurses handle the out-patients.
Mr. Mabior says told Eye Radio that the hospital only has ten doctors.
“They requested that the out-patients should not be run impartially as it is since the conflict erupted in Wau, they call nurses to come because they are tired from doing nursing work. They are just five doctors, we have 10 doctors, four are under IMC, and six belong to the government,” he said.
