Concerns over inflow of people fleeing Yei to Otogo

There is an influx of people from Yei town flowing into Otogo Payam, according to the area chief.

They reportedly fleeing on rumors that there was an imminent attack to be launched on the town.

Logo Boma executive Chief John Agele says Otogo is now experiencing high pressure on the already scarce basic social services the massive inflow of the displaced people.

He said the boma does not have enough food, medicine and facilities to for the increasing population.

Mr. Agele notes: “Food is no longer enough and these people who went from the town have discouraged our youths from participating in agriculture,” saying the community had embarked on extensive agriculture to prevent an outbreak of famine in the area.
