The Overseas Chinese Association in South Sudan in partnership with D&B International Co. Ltd donated food and non-food items to the Confident Children out of Conflict (CCC) orphanage in Juba on Sunday.

The donation comprises 30 bags of Rice, 50 bags of maize flour, 10 carters of oil, and 10 carters of beans.

Others are 10 bags of Sugar, 10 carters of biscuits, 200 trays of water, 100 trays of soda, and 50 school bags with stationaries and toys.

Franklin Ji, the Secretary General of Overseas Chinese Association in South Sudan said China Aid is the symbol of great love in the friendship China-South Sudan friendship.

Ji said he hopes a similar initiative is undertaken by Chinese citizens to alleviate the humanitarian needs of South Sudanese in the future.

“China Aid is the great love and the symbol of Chinse-South Sudanese friendship,” he said during the donation ceremony at New Site in Juba, on Sunday.

“I hope much more members of the overseas Chinese Association, just like Mr. Qiu Zhenqiang from D$B International Company Limited to inherit and enhance Chinese-South Sudanese traditional friendship, to build a better future.”

Qiu Zhen-Qiang, the Managing Director for D$B International Company Limited urged well-wishers to donate basic necessities to needy people especially during festive season.

“It’s Christmas season and I wish every society or community to come together to support the kids, to provide them with food for them grow and also, I’d like to wish them “Confident Children out of Conflict” merry Christmas and happy news celebration.”

For her part, Hellen Boro, Director General at Confident Children out of Conflict (CCC) appealed to well-wishers to support people with special needs to minimize gangs-related crimes.

“We South Sudanese, let us not allow our children to fall into the issue of gangs and bag snatching. It is time where there is no food and things are not easy but let these children not steal, robe or grab things from people,” she said.

Confident Children out of Conflict (CCC) is a South Sudanese non-governmental organization supporting orphaned and vulnerable children affected by violence, abuse and conflict.
