The Cease Fire and Transitional Monitoring Mechanism says freedom of movement is the biggest challenge it faces in executing its mandate.
CTSAMM says it finds itself in a difficult situation to address security matters as part of the implementation of the peace agreement.
“The biggest challenge for CTSAMM is one; it has remained like that, it will be again the same-is the freedom of movement to do its work,” says Faha Shawul, a senior member of CTSSAM.
“It is in a difficult situation, CTSAMM itself. It is condemned if it comes forward in the open; it is condemned when it gives low profile,” he explained.
“So the task and the way it addresses the problems and engages parties and the international community is very delicate, it needs a balance. It needs a careful maneuvering”.
Mr Faha was speaking at a cluster meeting in Juba yesterday.
The meeting brought together undersecretaries of different ministries and senior government officials to discuss development plans in line with the peace deal.
