Bor residents urged to return home

The Minister of Information has called on Bor residents who fled the area to return to their homes because the situation is now calm after the crisis.

During an address in to a congregation of St. Andrew Church yesterday, the Information Minister, Michael Makuei said the Bor residents need to go back and develop their home.

He assured that the peace talks in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa will make progress during the next round.

“Peace is back to Jonglei and as such, I appeal to people of Jonglei state in the Displace camps, in the refugee camps and in the Diaspora to come back to Bor, come back to their state so that we come and start development in our home area.” He said.

Makuei urged the communities in Jonglei State to forgive each other and live in peace.

“Today is Christmas day. It is a day of forgiveness. So I ask everybody who has sinned to him, anybody who has committed an offence against him so that our state goes back to normal lives.” He said.

Residents of Bor say they have celebrated Christmas peacefully and they look forward to celebrating the dawn of the New Year 2015 in peace.
