Some residents of Aweil Centre fled their homes this morning after an attack blamed on SPLM in Opposition forces, according to the Governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal.

Salva Chol Ayat says the forces kidnapped two people and injured two others in the incident.

“This incident happened around 2 in the morning. They broke into and looted four shops and injured an adult and one child [in the process],” Governor Ayat said. “They took drugs and other things.”

He says forces have been deployed to investigate the attack.

The Deputy Spokesperson of the SPLA-In opposition, Dickson Gatluak, could not confirm the attack. However, he says their forces have been deployed in the area.
