The U.S Ambassador to South Sudan Molly Phee has refuted allegation by the government that America is supporting regime change in the country.
On Wednesday, Minister of Information, Michael Makuei, said the government rejected a U.S. proposal for the U.N. Security Council to send 4,000 additional troops to the country to restore peace in Juba.
Makuei said the proposal “seriously undermines” South Sudan’s sovereignty” and “threatens a return to colonialism” and would make the country a U.N protectorate.
However, in an exclusive interview with Eye Radio’s Nichola Mandil, this morning, Ambassador Molly Phee described the allegations by Minister Michael Makuei as “completely false”.
