A 35-year-old man has been killed in Magwi County, Imatong State, for allegedly defiling his 9-year stepdaughter.

He raised the little girl after marrying her mother.

Officials say the man first ran into hiding after the rape, but was later captured by the local people.

Instead of taking him to the police, County Commissioner Ben Loduke Kingston told Eye Radio that relatives of the little girl killed the accused using arrows.

“They apprehended him but unfortunately instead of handing him over to the police, they decided to kill him,” Mr Kingston explained.

Mr Ben said one of the people suspected for the killing was arrested and is under police custody.

‘Open your legs’

Meanwhile, a resident of Atlabara in Juba town said a girl was heard screaming as some men raped her last night.

Varna said the incident happened at her immediate neighborhood.

“She kept screaming until 2 am but they took her far from here but you could still hear her scream,” he told Eye Radio.

“She was saying: ‘leave my legs’. Leave my legs. I will die’. But the guys slapped her and said: ‘Open your legs; open your legs’.”

Police were not immediately available for comment on the alleged rape incident.
