Central Equatoria State governor  has directed the newly sworn-in Deputy Mayor for Social Services and Infrastructure at the Juba City Council, Wol Mathok Diing, to work in a collegial spirit with the existing leadership of the council to enhance service delivery in the capital.

Emmanuel Adil Anthony made the remarks while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of the Deputy Mayor in Juba.

He urged the need to reorganize the city through road opening, proper market planning, and improved urban management systems.

Governor Adil also urged the Juba City Council leadership to address rampant littering and ensure that the city remains clean, green, and safe.

He stressed that maintaining a clean and orderly city is a collective responsibility and called for public awareness on the civic role of citizens in supporting sanitation efforts.

According to a statement posted by the Office of the Governor of Central Equatoria State, the Governor underscored the importance of teamwork within the city administration, noting that coordinated leadership is key to improving urban service delivery.

Deputy Mayor Wol Mathok Diing thanked the Governor for the trust bestowed upon him and pledged to work closely with the leadership of the Juba City Council to enhance social services for residents.

Juba City Council Mayor Christopher Wani Sarafino Swaka congratulated the Deputy Mayor on his appointment and welcomed him to the institution, saying the council will work together to implement plans aimed at transforming Juba into a modern city.

He reiterated the council’s commitment to improving environmental management and waste disposal systems as part of efforts to meet urban development standards.

The leadership of the Juba City Council further committed to strengthening teamwork and collaboration in the delivery of services to the residents of Juba.
