The Governor of Lol State, Rizik Zachariah has warned of hunger in Raja, which officials say was looted during an attack last week.

Mr Zachariah said the area is calm and some displaced people are returning to their homes, but cautions that the returnees are running short of food.

“The people who attacked us took all the foods and too many other things also, if the situation continues like this for two more days, hunger will come,” he told Eye Radio.

Mr Rizik says seven of his bodyguards were killed before he fled the town to the neighboring Shamam locality.
