Wau police receive salary arrears

Author : | Published: Monday, March 9, 2015

Police personnel who went on strike in Wau over delayed pay last week have started receiving salaries for two months.

Five people, including two army soldiers, two police men and a pregnant woman were killed during the protests.

“They are now receiving right away and the police were very happy when they received the two month salary,” reported Deng Dimo, Eye Radio’s stringer in Wau.

“But they are still complaining for the month of June last year which they say the month have ‘gone missing’.”

It is not clear how many police personnel are receiving the salaries.
