The opposition party the, United Democratic Salvation Front Mainstream, is urging the government to speed up the legal process for the release of the remaining political detainees.

The UDSFM congratulated the warring parties on signing the cessation of hostility agreement.

In an official statement, the party said the monitoring and verification mechanism should be implemented fairly.

The party also said that it is sorry about the current conflict, happening within the SPLM Ruling Party, and called on the two sides to negotiate.

UDSFM also appreciated efforts made by the government to bring the situation to normal, especially, in Bentiu , Bor and Malakal, after the December 15 incident.

However, it deplored the existence of unruly soldiers, who continue to terrorize the public on the streets of Juba, looting property, occupying people’s plots and killing innocent civilians.

It called upon the government to address the situation urgently.
