165 health workers graduated in Torit

Torit Health Science Institute in Eastern Equatoria State graduated and inaugurated 165 students in various fields of healthcare on Friday.

The graduates are 50 field of Clinical Medicine and Public Health officers, 27 nurses, 38 midwives, 24 from Medical Laboratory Technology, and 26 from Pharmacy.

Principal Isaac Nimeri John commends the students for their determination to obtain excellence and urged them to professionally respond to health emergencies in the line of service.

State minister of roads and bridges Jildo Abala Remy also encouraged the trained health workers to fight maternal mortality rate and other aspects of life.

“Torit health science institute, brought you up to reduce the maternal mortality rate and other aspects of life. You have been intensively trained to reinforce the health facilities across the state and beyond,” said Minister Jildo.

He also reiterated the commitment of the government to providing redress to some challenges the institution faces.

“Because the institute is performing an act that has to do with human life, the state government will do its level best to address some of them if not some of them.”

Torit Health Science Institute was established in 2015 with an aim of producing local human resources to provide health services at medical facilities across the state.

It now hosts students from various states of the country and beyond.
