Young man bags 945,000 SSP from Innovation Challenge 2022

A 25-year-old entrepreneur has won nearly one million South Sudanese pounds ($1,500) during the Innovation Challenge 2022, having successfully presented an idea to install software to help track financial expenses.

Nelson Mandela, the Managing Director of Equip Africa International Consultancy said he is very excited to have won the monetary price.

He has proposed that his firm will install a good book-keeping system to help small enterprises manage their financial system.

“I feel excited and I feel like there is something in me that actually I have to put it further. I don’t need to sit on my current status. I feel so excited and I feel happy,” he said.

The 2022 Innovation Challenge was organized by Impact Health Organization and BEATech with support from UNFPA targeting young people between the ages of 18 to 25.

The awarding committee based its judgments on the level of innovation, impact on the community, business model, and financial sustainability.

They also consider marketing and the team who are going to take part in implementing the innovation.

“We have five contested, we have gone through their files and the presentation of our compilation is final. They did very well and the winner is Equip Africa International,” Gabriel Mading Apach of Kush Advocates and Solicitors announced the result on behalf of the awarding committee after scrutiny on Friday.
