The United Nations Refugees Agency says it has begun relocating more 2,000 Sudanese refugees in Central Equatoria State from Yei Town to Lasu Payam.

Among them are many single mothers who approached the agency, seeking assistance.

It says refugees could not meet the cost of living in Yei Town, including paying rent, health, and education for their children.

In its monthly operation update, UNHCR says upon arrival, the 2, refugees receive food, domestic tools, and plots of land for them to resettle.

It also says lactating mothers are accommodated in a special transit facility to keep their babies safe and healthy.
