Yei River registers people with disabilities

The directorate for social development In Yei River State is carrying out assessment for persons living with disabilities in the area.

The exercise is aimed at identifying needs and challenges affecting people with physical disability in the four counties of the state.

“We are going to find out data and make it available for our partners to help us where possible,” Eli Ramadhan, director general for social development, told Eye Radio.

He says they will send teams to conduct a house to house assessment to find the needs of the disable persons

“We came to understand that many people with disabilities have been helped in number of ways like Handicap international and the responds is positive,” Mr Ramadhan added.

“So we need this information so that it determines the size and capacity we want to address.”

The assessment process is expected to last two months.
