Yei police arrest 6 people linked to killing of student

Police in Yei River County have arrested six suspects linked to the murder of a 20-year-old secondary school student earlier this month.

The six suspects were accused of beating up a student to death during a traditional dance at Lomuku Residential area.

The deceased, only Identified as Mayen, was attacked and killed over a love affair, according to eyewitnesses. He was a third year student at Nile High Secondary school.

Yei Police Chief Police Inspector Colonel Jeremiah Maker told Eye Radio that the suspects are in police custody.

“Once the investigations are over, they will be sent to court,” Col Maker said.
