Wonduruba community decides

Author : | Published: Thursday, January 14, 2016

The Wonduruba community is meeting today to decide whether their area should be in Jubek or Yei River state.

Before the new states were created, the area was under the jurisdiction of the Central Equatoria state governor.

The community is divided over which state the area should be administered since the split of the ten states.

Some say Wonduruba should be under Jubek, while others say it should under Yei River State.

A Member of Parliament representing in the national assembly, Festus Lemi, says the outcome of the meeting will be final.

He claims that the community is likely to choose Jubek.

“Wonduruba should be under Jubek for many reasons, including; since before the British, we were under Juba,” Hon Lemi stated.

Hon Lemi says the meeting is being attended by selected individuals from seven bomas of the area.

Eye Radio’s attempts to reach other members of the community who want the area to be under the Yei River State have not been successful.
