The World Food Program says it has begun allocating food supplies to areas that will not be accessible during the rainy season.

George Fominyen, Public Communication officer, says large trucks have begun delivering these items to places where food will be stored.

Mr. Fominyen told the Dawn Show that this process is to avoid aid from being cut off from people in need during the rainy season.

“We are trying to do what they called in technical term prepositioning; it would simply mean [putting food] in places which will become inaccessible when the rain starts,” said Mr Fominyen.

“We will try to move food into those places, the food that we will normally provide to people between June and December. That is big part of our work.”

Mr. Forminyen says WFP has provided food assistance to more than 2 million people since last year.
