The government has formed a committee to investigate the fighting which has left 39 civilians dead and over a thousand others displaced in Wau.

The Minister of Information says the committee, headed by Health Minister Dr. Riek Gai Kok, will travel to Wau to find out the root cause of the incident in the State.

Mr. Makuei also said a security report from Wau indicates that 4 police officers were among those killed in the clashes with an armed group.

He said civilians are now returning to their homes in Wau.
