Warrap: IDPs spend 2 months without food rations

Author : | Published: Thursday, January 8, 2015

Internally Displaced Persons living in Agany Camp in Twic, Warrap, say they have not received their food rations for two months.

The IDPs who are mainly from Unity State say humanitarian organisations including the World Food Program have failed to provide them food.

Nyanjur Madit Deng is a representative of the I-D-P-s at the camp.  She says food shortages are leading to what she calls serious health concerns.

Nyanjur is appealing to the state government to intervene and contain the situation.

WFP has denied claims by the IDPs that they have been without food for two months.

However, the agency acknowledges it has not supplied the IDPs with food for one month only, and says fresh supplies will be delivered soon.
