Authorities in Warrap state have detained 2 people from Lakes state suspected of involvement in the killing of civilians.

Last week, the authorities apprehended 5 of the suspects, only to release 3 people after conducting investigations.

The suspects have also been accused of cattle raiding in Tonj South County.

Tonj South County Commissioner, William Wol told Eye Radio that the authorities in Warrap and Lakes states foiled an attack by the raiders on a village in Tonj South County.

“We’ve an agreement with Lakes state that when a person is killed in Warrap by a person from Lakes state, that person accused of killing must be brought to Warrap state where his case will be settled in the jurisdiction of the place where the incident happened,” said Mr Wol.

Commissioner Wol also said security forces from the two states have launched a joint operation to curb insecurity in the Counties bordering each other.
