Upper Nile allocates 700M for redeveloping counties

The Governor of Upper Nile says the state assembly has allocated 700 million South Sudanese Pounds for reconstruction of the counties that have been affected by the conflict.

Simon Kon Pouch says the money will also be used for funding education and health projects.

“This year we have a good budget for Upper Nile State, we have 700 million SSP for Upper Nile State only and mostly we are giving the budget for Education, Health and food security and also the construction of our Counties that have been devastated in the war.” Pouch said.

Upper Nile State is one of the three states affected by the ongoing conflict. Others include Jonglei and Unity States.
