Kenya-based South Sudanese rapper Iduzeer and Australia-based singer Slate Nation have been nominated for the June 2023 edition of the East Africa Entertainment Award released this week.

Entertainers and fashionistas from across East Africa were nominated for their outstanding works ahead of the awards night scheduled for 10th June 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The EAEA, which is one of the region’s biggest music award ceremonies, released the full list of nominees – that was dominated by artistes from Uganda and Tanzania.

Slate Nation was nominated in the Diaspora Act Of The Year and John Frog and Eddy Kenzo got the nod for Action n’ Energy remix.

South Sudanese rapper Iduzeer, who is based in Kenya has also been nominated in the Best Rapper of the Year for  his ‘Mahorns’ Album.

In Uganda, the likes of DJ Lito, Mc Kats, Eddy Kenzo, Juliana Kanyomozi, Spice Diana, Sheebah Karungi, and Bobi Wine among others that have already been nominated.

Eddy Kenzo received nominations in the Artiste/Group of the Year, Best Male, Best Afro-Native Single for his ‘Nsimbudde’ and Live Performance of the Year categories.

In the Best Artiste/Group of the Year, Eddy Kenzo was nominated along with Alikiba, Diamond Platnumz, Fally Ipupa, Innonss’B, Koffi Olomide and Sauti Sol.

Meanwhile, Butera Knowless, Juliana Kanyomozi, Nadia Mukami, Nandy, Phina, Spicy Diana and Zuchu were all nominated for the Best Female Artist.

Alikiba, Bruce Melodie, Diamond platnumz, Khaligraph Jones, Eddy Kenzo, Harmonize and Rayvanny have been chosen for the Best Male Artist award.
