The University of Juba lecturers have again extended the threat to lay down their tools despite receiving 3-month salary arrears on Monday.

Last week, the lecturers threatened to take an industrial action, citing delay of their six-month salaries arrears.

In a statement posted on the Vice Chancellor, Professor John Akec’s Facebook page, the lecturers said they were paid only for three months.

But still, they demand the Ministry of Finance to clear the remaining arrears of 4 months within two weeks.

They warned, failure to do so they would go on strike and suspend lectures.

“If the arrears are not settled within the next two weeks, the now uplifted threat of suspension of lectures will be back on the table.”
