Traders in Leer County, Unity State say the market is running short of goods

Traders in Leer County, Unity State, say the market is running short of goods and the price of basic commodities has gone up as a result.

It has been difficult to transport goods to remote parts of the country since fighting broke out in South Sudan on 15th December.

One of the women who sell wheat flour in Leer, Nyadiet Magock Bol, said all her sisters and brothers who were working with her were considering going home due to the lack supplies for the market.

She said this would force them to collect firewood to sell in order to support their families.

Nyadiet said children would suffer because of a lack of food in the market.
