Torit roads ‘relatively calm’

Roads in Torit County have been relatively safe in the last one week after security forces were deployed on the roads, according to an official.

The reported calm comes after forces were deployed there to maintain security.

German Charles says no attacks have been reported after a vehicle was looted on the Torit- Kapoeta road more than a week ago.

“We wish that people should remain with peace preparing for ex-mass in a peaceful manner without getting any problem from those who are traveling either from Torit to Juba or from Torit to Kapoeta, Torit to Nimule and Ikotos without getting any difficulties along the roads,” said Mr Charles.

A few weeks ago, security forces were deployed on roads connecting Torit to other areas because of rising insecurity in the area.
