Tonj: Pharmacist taken in for offering expired drugs

A pharmacist has been arrested for selling over one thousand expired drugs in Tonj south county clinic of Warrap state.

Tonj south Commissioner William Wol said the man was caught at his clinic.

The expired merchandize has been confiscated and the man has been referred to the concerned authorities for legal action.

“We actually recovered the medicines in different categories,” he explained, “we captured 28 pieces of sodium chlorite intravenous, 9 crystal and 20 pieces of glucose intravenous inefficient of 500 mg and we also capture two tins of vitamin E containing 1000 capsules each and they are now in the store.”

Commissioner Wol said the expired medicines are now in storage and they will be destroyed at a later date.
