Competent teachers are behind the success of Terekeka County this year in the South Sudan Secondary School Certificate Exams, the commissioner has said.

Terekeka Secondary School ranked first in results of this academic year 2013-2014. All of the 141 candidates who sat the national exams passed.

Jacob Gore says the country education department is recruiting more competent teachers to help improve secondary school education.

“They have given their efforts that’s why you are hearing that Terekeka County passed well so it is also good for us to recognize them and appreciate them,” Mr Gore told Eye Radio’s Dawn Show.

Mr. Gori congratulated the ministry of education for their efforts and the teachers who have committed themselves to help the South Sudanese.

He also appreciated the parents who stood with their children and encourage them to continue with education.
