Polling has entered second day in Sudan. Analysts say the elections are expected to see the incumbent President Omar al-Bashir hold on to power for another five-year term.

More than 13 million people have registered to vote at some 11,000 polling stations across the country.

But as the 3-day voting was set to begin, several polling stations in the capital had no voters at all lined up to cast their ballots.

The mainstream opposition is boycotting the elections and has called on voters to stay away, saying that the conditions in the country are not right for free and fair polls.

Al-Bashir has ruled Sudan unchallenged for 25 years and presents himself as a symbol of stability.
