The SPLM-IO advance team of 15 members has arrived in the country.

This is contrary to earlier reports which indicated that a total of 150 members had arrived in the country.

Paul Akol Kordit, the spokesperson for the committee for coordination, reception, and accommodation of the SPLM-IO team, told reporters this afternoon that the other members of the first batch could not come as expected due to a technical issue.

The 15-member team is led by a senior SPLM-IO official, Ramadhan Laku.

According to the deputy spokesperson of Dr Riek Machar, Nyarji Roman, the 15-member team will be accommodated in three hotels: Dembesh, Landmark, and Juba Grand.

The advance team will officially commence the implementation of the August peace agreement, on the ground, between the government and the armed opposition led by former vice-president Dr Riek Machar.
