The SPLM general-secretariat says it is holding an emergency general convention at the end of next week to pass basic party documents.

The secretary of information, Bol Makueng, says these will include the constitution and the party rules and regulations.

“Invitation letters are on the way to those who are invited. The invitation is to those who will attend this conference – members of 2008 convention,” Mr Makueng stressed.

He told Eye Radio that the conference is in line with the Arusha Agreement to reunite the party.

However, he did not explain if there are arrangements for members who are outside the country to attend the meeting.
