More SPLA-IO soldiers to arrive over weekend

The UN Mission in South Sudan says the soldiers of the SPLM in Opposition will continue to arrive in Juba over the weekend.

The forces started arriving in Juba since last week, to take part in the joint security arrangements according to the peace agreement.

So far, 191 SPLA IO forces have arrived in Juba, including 22 generals.

The UNMISS Spokesperson Ariane Quentier told Eye Radio they will be still be willing to help in the transportation process of the 1,370-strong force, even after the end of the week.

The soldiers are also expected in the capital to facilitate the return of the First Vice President Designate, Dr. Riek Machar.
