The SPLA in Opposition forces have launched attacks on areas in Renk County and Doleip Hill in Upper Nile State, the army spokesperson has said.

No casualties have been reported.

Col Philip Aguer says the attacks were carried out yesterday and this morning.

He told Eye Radio that government forces are ready to defend themselves and their territory in case they are attacked by the opposition forces.

“We are ready for any continuation of attacks in other parts of Upper Nile,” said Col Aguer.

Renk is one of the areas that have experienced sporadic attacks by the SPLA in Opposition forces since the conflict erupted in mid-December last year.
