A delegation of South Sudanese Members of Parliament has travelled to Libya to participate in the Asian-African Parliamentary Council conference taking place from tomorrow.

The delegation arrived in Benghazi on Saturday to attend the Second General Conference of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council, which will be held from June 15 to 16, 2026.

MP Majur Babur Ajal, alongside Caguar Adong Manyang, is leading the delegation on behalf of the Speaker of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly at the continental gathering.

The conference is being hosted by the Libyan House of Representatives under the theme “The Future Vision of African-Asian Relations.”

It brings together parliamentary leaders, lawmakers and international observers from across Africa and Asia to discuss cooperation, diplomacy and regional development.

The meeting is also expected to promote inter-parliamentary diplomacy, strengthen economic partnerships and encourage regional collaboration.

Key discussions will focus on sustainable development, strengthening democratic institutions and addressing shared socio-economic challenges.

The participation of South Sudan reflects the country’s continued engagement in international parliamentary dialogue and efforts to strengthen relations with African and Asian partners.
