South Sudan marks Eid al Ad-ha

Muslims in South Sudan have joined the rest of the Islamic world in the celebrations of Eid al Ad-ha or the ‘feast of sacrifice.’

Feast of sacrifice is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his first born son Ismail, as an act of submission to God.

The Director for Islamic Dawa Organization in South Sudan, Khamis Sindani, calls for peace in the country to mark the festival.

He urges the leaders to put the interests of the country before everything they do to end the current crisis.

“If each and every one wants to achieve things that he or she likes, I think that we will not reach to the solution of the current crisis,” Mr. Sindani.

“If there is no frankness, no trust and no forgiveness we will continue in this crisis for a long time. That is why we are talking with everybody so that we can reach for a peaceful settlement to this crisis.”

Mr Sindani said the Islamic Dawa Organization is distributing food items to people in the residential areas, hospitals and prisons during the four days of celebrations.
